Unity Among the Parts

I just wanted to mention some things that seem to be coming up for me a lot this week. It's about relationships. Before the world, was created everything was consumed in the light of G-d. There was no distinction; everything blended into itself. Hashem decided to create a world. I don't claim to know how or why He created the world, but what I do know is that it contains distinctions and separations. Of course, I don't why He created the world like this, but thank G-d He did.

In a world of separation, I can learn how to connect to G-d deeply through my relationships with others. The more deep, intense and true my relationships with others are, the more deep, intense and true my relationship with G-d will be. I believe that the purpose of creation is to return to a unified state with the Creator, but I don't think that means to lose who we are, our uniqueness. I think it's very much the opposite. It is through taking care of each other, loving each other, and sharing with each other our joys, our fears, our laughter and our sadness that we can work to bring ourselves closer to Unity amongst the connection of its parts.
